What was the highlight of Dee Guesthouse White Sands

Very Poor

We arrived having travelled to get there and paying for a taxi only to arrive with no one there just a builder saying no one is here and didn't have any contact details of the place or owner so I couldn't call or contact the owner and still to this day no contact and they already taken the money and I'm still waiting to it back NOT GOOD !! mayb a scam ????‍️ and I'm a genius 3 on booking.com so i stay in many places and I never leave a bad comment but the fact NO one had even contacted me still I want to leave a comment so maybe booking.com will contact me even ???? And being not the best place to be stuck with no accommodation we had to go opposite the road to an EXPENSIVE Resort and Spa as No Internet and had to pay out more money to have somewhere to stay so all in all Shocking stay and Cost us a Lot of money and time just for 1 day

The fact no one there or can't even contact ANYONE EVEN Booking. Com about it or get a Reply ??? And still no money back

Do not stay here!

The only good thing about our stay was that the wifi was pretty good.

We have been on our travels around the world for 5 months and this is easily the worst place we’ve stayed in. We definitely made the WRONG DECISION to stay at this place where our experience will never be forgotten for all the wrong reasons! This place is so loud! Barking dogs, banging building work (by the owner), screaming family children and the list goes on.. The kitchen is inaccessible most of the time. The family tend to use it a lot and you have to wait till it’s empty to use it which is usually very late - around 9pm. The kitchen is filthy and messy. This place also has 3 barking dogs and a cat that roams the kitchen and its counters. The cat ate our food as we were cooking, the family acknowledged these pets were in the kitchen and made no effort to remove them. Another facility issue we had was the laundry room which was when we used the washing machine at the back of the guesthouse. There is a pathway full of building work clutter that leads you there and it is full of dog / cat poo and smells really bad. My partner put his trainers outside our room door, right next to the door. He noticed that whilst checking out that this has gone missing and enquired about this only to be told that the cleaner put this in the rubbish and it has now gone. Firstly, we were surprised that they have a cleaner with the state of the place! Secondly, they did not check with him if it was rubbish or not. No common sense was shown. The cleaner stated that it is in the rules that whatever is left outside your door goes in the bin which is not true as the rule stated that any rubbish can be left outside and his NIKE trainers are NOT rubbish! And they didn’t even share this rule book with us upon our arrival.

Good for the price, especially if you have your own mobile internet and are only one person.

Price is great, location is reasonable -- short walk from some restaurants, though no breakfast options other than McDonalds. Facilities in the house are nice with a large common area. Rooms are very clean.

Wifi was terrible; we had to ask the staff to reset it multiple times a day, and even then it would frequently drop or be completely unusable. We had a private room and got given one blanket that was barely big enough for one person, much less two. We asked for a second blanket and got charged 50 pesos, which is of course not much, but still annoying for what I would consider a necessity. The AC sounds like a ship's engine and seems to have one setting regardless of what temperature or fan speed you choose, which is full blast directly at the bed (which really makes the blankets necessary).

overall really goo

i stayed in a 6 bed room, but the beds all have privacy which was really cool, i stayed 1 night and left early morning.

there was no lockers to secure your valuables. if i was to stay another nights i would like to know my stuff was secure.

Difficult to rouse the owner when we arrived at 8pm. Fellow guest had to bang on his door. Then he seemed irritated to be disturbed and talked at speed: not very welcoming at all.

Had a good sleep but nothing else to do really

The room was in good condition and had plenty of space, a tv and good bathroom. Air conditioning is too cold but comfy bed

Location is terrible especially for a solo traveller like myself. Closest shop is a ten minute walk and if you look white you are constantly harassed in this part of town. Not the hotels fault I get that but this place is not suitable for a girl who is solo travelling. Not much to do in the area except chill in the room or go island hopping which I feel is a scam. Also I understand that they have dogs and I like animals and although quiet at night, there was a lot of noise early in the morning from barking which would wake me up. Wouldn’t return to Mactan in general as there’s not much in the area to do especially as this hotel doesn’t have a pool/beach

The shared room was very good for dormitory price and private rooms also.

Although we were told there would be pets on the property we were shocked to see animal feces on the living room floor when we entered. One of our group members had accidentally spilled his coffee from a contigo bottle ( it shot on the wall and later we found from the host that is was on the ceilings and dresser as well ceilings) he tried to clean it but we left at 3:45 in the morning and were trying to be quick and quiet. The host wrote a very accusatory message , calling us rude ?implying that we were intentional in our actions and threatening to call the police. I replied through booking asking what we could do to remedy the situation and never heard an answer

Dee’s family were very welcoming. The guesthouse was in a great location. The house was very secure. I stayed here as I was waiting for a friend to arrive, and it did not disappoint

Its quiet good for the budget travellers.You have to walk through the gate of the village to arrived

i like the room.Location is ok.

i dont like the smell of the dogs,but its ok.The aircon from the last hours wasn’t working so it was so hot when we arrived,we wanted to stay one hour more and relax but then i asked fix aircon and they didnt.Disappointed a bit of it since it was very hot and humid.
